Problem Midi Sync

Post by PonchO »

Hiho Fellers,

first, a big thank you all for developing and improving the sooperlooper. And thank you for the handy Midi-learn functionality ;).

I've played around with the looper, but when it comes to Midi Clock Sync i have always the same problem.
The SooperLooper in my Ubuntu Studio 12.04 gets the Midi-Clock from my external Korg EMX 1 groovebox. Then i want to loop the phrases from my synthesizers in Linux Multimedia Studio (LMMS).
Hence, i've connected via Jack my Midi-In to SooperLooper and the LMMS-Output to SooperLooper as well. Afterwards, the SooperLooper Out goes to the system out.

Then i start the groovebox. The SooperLooper settings are as follows:
-sync to: MidiClock
-quantize: cycle
-sync-box: activated
-play sync: activated

I know, that the loop must be shifted to compensate the imperfect timing. Thus i've used these settings.

I start playing and looping my simple synth-line. Then, despite my settings, after a few cycles the shift becomes present. But then the loop is hanging until the next cycle start-trigger comes. It makes some queer noises and then continues playing. This is not the behavior i've hoped for  .

Can someone help me with that?

Best regards,

Christoph
