tap_tempo not working?

So, I'm using PureData to communicate OSC to and from SL.
Macbook. OS X Leopard. Latest version of SL (1.6.14). Running "standalone".

I can send alternating 1s and 0s to the tap_tempo global ctrl as taps (tap_tempo apparently requires a change in the control value to register as a tap), and these taps show up as flashes on the tap button in the original SL GUI, but they don't have any effect on determining the tempo (or anything else). I figured out that certain conditions have to be met before you can use the tap button to dictate a tempo (like, you shouldn't be sync-sourcing from an established loop), but while I can create situations in which I can dictate tempo by clicking the tap button on the SL GUI, these same situations yield no effect from sending tap_tempo commands via OSC (other than visually flashing the tap button).

So, basically, tap_tempo looks like it's working in situations clicking tap works, but has no effect on tempo in these situations (but clicking tap does).

Also, I get OSC tap_tempo messages BACK from SL whenever I send one.
So SL definitely knows I'm sending them.

Most other OSC works great.

I should mention that this didn't work for me in 1.6.13 either.

Has this OSC command not yet been implemented?
Am I missing something?
Am I buggy?

Hello,
I am experiencing exactly the same problem over mac OSX 10.11.5 using the version 1.7.3 of sooperlooper.

Is there any chance to fix this bug?

Cheers
