Unfortunately I'm not able to help here. Just wanted to add that I'm experiencing the same problem. SL (at least the GUI) suddenly just doesn't want to connect anymore. Although in my case it has nothing to do with a network cable, because I never used one with my laptop - but I'm not able to recogn...
